I am a 24-year-old reporter from Derby.
I graduated with a first-class honours in journalism from the University of Derby in 2017 where I also received the Deans Award for excellence.
I was also features editor for the student newspaper and representative for the journalism course.
I had only been graduated for two weeks when I was offered my first role as a reporter for the Burton Mail in Burton upon Trent.
I was there for just over a year when I was headhunted by Derbyshire Live to fill the position of another reporter who had recently left.
I impressed in my first week by finding multiple big stories and gaining thousands upon thousands of page views.
I have an eye for spotting strong stories and building rapport with contacts who continue to come to me first with big scoops.
Journalism is my absolute passion and I feel so lucky to be in a job that I love every single day.
In November 2018 I received the ‘Highly Commended’ award for Newcomer of the Year at the Midlands Media Awards.
